Smaller Businesses

The proprietor of the smaller business (one-man band or just a few employees / subcontractors) doesn't want to be swamped with information, but needs to know that the support is there as and when it is needed. Our support for the smaller business is based on three core principles:

  1. Ensuring you have sound bookkeeping procedures - for details click here (Note 1)
  2. Providing you with a fixed fee quote for the accounting / taxation support you will need from us, and
  3. Including unlimited ad hoc queries within our fee quote

This approach leaves the proprietor of the smaller business able to concentrate on the important task of growing his or her business and improving its profitability without having to worry about the bookkeeping and accounts procedures.

Notes

1. While we recommend that all our smaller business clients use More Bookkeeping Software - we are completely flexible on this point.

At one end of the scale, some clients are already familiar with other bookkeeping approaches or software. Provided it works, if you want to stick with it, that is fine.

At the other end of the scale some of our clients do not wish to do any of the bookkeeping themselves, no matter how good the software, and prefer to let us have the documents monthly or quarterly so that we can keep the books for them. Again, this is absolutely fine with us - our fee quote will be higher in this case, but clients who prefer this method consider the higher fee is worth it from their point of view because they would prefer to use their time on other things.
